Delphi Chops Bench Notes

About Milan Vydareny

DescriptionHello and welcome to Delphi Chops Bench Notes. Bench Notes started as a means of taking notes and keeping track of things I wanted to remember, or things I needed to do at repeated intervals, but not frequently enough to recall the details without a reference. I use it both to reinforce things that I have discovered and learned and as a reference when I need to refresh a technique or approach for subsequent reuse.

I hope you find the information it contains useful in your own developer activities. Let me know if you discover things I should have known, but haven't included here. I'm a life-long learner and learning from personal experience and interaction with others is a hallmark of my personal journey.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the site.

About Bench Notes

Bench Notes is a growing collection of Delphi programming techniques, Object Pascal examples, RAD Studio tips, reusable code patterns, and practical solutions drawn from real-world software development.

Bench Notes is developed in an ad hoc fashion, and loosely organized topically. These are things I have learned while trying to develop a Delphi application, or as I was struggling to understand legacy code, or that might have occurred to me for no particular reason at all.

Feel free to use and adapt them for your own applications.

Github Repos

Some topics refer to Github repos that are public and open source. You'll have to download those repos in order to retrieve the code. Additional information about the code is generally contained in the repo, and when combined with this documentation should provide sufficient information for ongoing usage in your own code.

Links to any public Github repo are contained in the specific article related to the repo.

Delphi Chops Blog

Many topics, but not all, are also explained in a blog post at Delphi Chops. If there is a related blog post, a link to the blog is contained in the article.
